As an artist, I was fortunate to
grow up in the South of France, in a family of writers, musicians and artists,
and in the shadow of the great French Masters of Impressionism and
Post-Impressionism.
I went on to study Fine Arts and
Decorative Arts at the Academie Charpentier in Paris,
where I received a strict
classical education, which later proved to be a solid foundation for my present
style.
After years of experimentation, soul-searching and development, I now
paint in a somewhat loose
and spontaneous impressionistic style, in which I
strive to instill life with movement, color and light.
The viewer could easily
guess that my greatest inspirations have been Monet and Chagall.
I eventually moved to the United
States, where I received a BFA in Environmental Design at
California College of
Arts and Crafts, combining my love of Art with that of Design.
While married and raising a family,
I continued to work alongside architects, engineers, surveyors,
contractors, and
landscapers. It enabled me to appreciate man’s creativity and ingenuity as he
strives
to be a good steward of this beautiful planet.
At present, I am a Church Interior Designer.
After experimenting with various
mediums, I now paint almost exclusively in oils.
On dark winter days, I can be
found in my studio, but I’m most comfortable painting
“en Plein Air“.
