About the Artist Joy Lasseter has been painting since she was 10 years old. She majored in art in college then transferred to Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. After moving to California she painted with the Pacific School of Design group for 4 years. In Vancouver has been affiliated with the Northwest Oil Painters Guild, Mosaic Arts Alliance, Society of Washington Artists, and the Ridgefield Art Association. Since moving to Vancouver in 2004 her paintings have been shown in the following galleries, shows and venues: Aurora Gallery, Nevado Gallery, Sixth Street Gallery, Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River, Caswell’s Art Gallery in Troutdale, Parade of Homes, Street of Dreams, Maya Lin Convergence Project, Lewis and Clark - After the Journey, Society of Washington Artists Spring Show, Ridgefield Art Association Annual Show and Gallery 360. Joy specializes in landscapes, waterscapes and still-lifes. She has been trained in many media and currently paints in acrylic on canvas.
